The Viper Mid MK 2 Wire Rope Lubricator (WRL) is an automated, high-pressure lubrication system engineered for the controlled application of grease to wire ropes with diameters ranging from 6mm to 67mm. The system delivers lubricant at rates of up to 2,000 metres per hour, ensuring efficient servicing with minimal operational interruption.
By applying lubricant under pressure directly into the rope core, the Viper Mid MK 2 achieves full internal and external coverage, effective moisture displacement, and long-term corrosion protection.
Operating Principle
The Viper WRL system uses a precision-machined aluminium collar fitted with a high-abrasion-resistant polyurethane seal. During operation, the seal Molds to the rope geometry, creating a dynamic pumping action that forces lubricant into the interstices and core of the wire rope. This process ensures consistent grease penetration where internal corrosion typically initiates.
Excess lubricant is captured within a secondary seal chamber, eliminating external leakage and environmental contamination.
