HENNLICH's standard torsion springs are manufactured from stainless steel 1.4310 according to the quality standards for cold-formed torsion springs (DIN 2194, Grade 1). The use of this high-quality material ensures that the springs meet the highest quality standards. The legs conform to design type 1 and are offset by the specified angle (Figures A, B, C, D).
When selecting a torsion spring, various factors must be considered, such as the required torque, the torque transmission requirements, the material selection, and the operating and installation conditions.
A torsion spring, also called a torsion or twist spring, can be mounted on a guide mandrel or in a sleeve, ensuring sufficient clearance between the spring and the guide. Ideally, the load is applied in the direction of winding, which reduces the inner diameter. One leg should be firmly clamped, while the other leg serves to transmit the force or torque.
Both the design and the position of the legs can be adapted in a variety of ways to meet specific requirements (e.g., designs 2, 3, 4).
It is common practice to manufacture leg springs without coil spacing. However, if friction between the coils is undesirable, they can also be manufactured with coil spacing.
Every dimension of the standard HENNLICH leg spring is available in right- and left-handed versions. For custom-made springs, the desired winding direction must be specified.
HENNLICH also offers comprehensive, individualized consultation regarding the selection and application of leg springs.
