The primary function of sealing technology is to prevent the unwanted escape of the sealed operating medium or the conveyed material from the interior of the machine or system component into the environment. The secondary function of sealing technology is to prevent the penetration of moisture, dirt, dust, and other contaminants present in the system environment into the interior of the machine or system components.
